Greetings FBOers...
Well, HTWWW is a long overdue release of live material which will finally show
the true
concert Led Zeppelin. Just the energy alone in each song is an uplifting
experience.
Now, if we can just go back to September '71 and release some of the concert
material
from the Japan tour, I could leave the world a most satisfied man.
I used to think that a 40Gb hard drive was all the space I would ever
need?until I started
working with WAV files. These things are magnetic storage hogs. My kingdom
for a terabyte drive.
All you folks out there using Cool Edit Pro, can you email me advise on how to
get the best
sound out of my tape-to-CD extractions? There's like a zillion options of
things I would
need to go back to college to learn and use, so if anyone can enlighten me, I
would be most
appreciative.
I think Louis Rey was right about the 1/20-21/75 shows being vilified by the
press at the time.
Despite Robert's flu and Jimmy's broken finger, there's still a lot of strength
in the
performances, but I especially liked "When the Levee Breaks" and "The Wanton
Song".
There were plenty of sub-par '75 shows that made these nights in Chicago sound
like Japan '71.
Until next time, take care?
David
