Page is probably more in touch with reality than any of us can imagine.
We have no idea as we are not them, as to what their real intentions are
with anything they choose to do or not do.
RE: Jibes at Jones..."He's not that kind of person" How do we know just
what kind of person Jones is ? How we ever spent any time with the bloke
and his family to even know anything more about him other than what we
have read in interviews or some sort of permuted fanzine factoid ? For
all we know Jones sits down to break bread and spews forth fire and
brimstone dare anyone mention RP, JPJ, PG, Zep anything to do with that
past life. Based on the book cover though, he does seem like a very
genuine all around nice guy.
Bottom line, we are the ones that are living out of touch with reality
as we're the ones joined up on this FBO bandwagon living vicariously on
past memories of someone else's days gone by.
They haven't been Led Zeppelin in over 20 years. What makes you think
they ever could be "Led Zeppelin" again ? At most they could be
introduced and referred to as Led Zeppelin ( or former members of ) but
"Led Zeppelin", the band, the music, the moment can no longer be. I
respect the fact that they themselves recognize this and never continued
on as Led Zeppelin or tried to reunite as Led Zeppelin other than the
mandatory HoF et al corporate functions. IMO shame on "the who?"
I forget, for Live Aid were they actually introduced as "Led Zeppelin" ?
NYC as a contractual obligation...hmm never thought of it that way. Good
point. Don't P/P still owe an album ? Could this be the P/P with
special buddy for the day JPJ "un-plugged" acoustic session in the works?
All in all, I am happy with what we have. A Band that's a legend, has
dignity, has all surviving member in good health and fortune, has a
legion of fans that's as strong today as it was in the heyday ( well I
might be stretching it there ) and if they ever so decide to play
together again under any circumstance I will appreciate the hell out of
it. OK, I didn't really adore WiC, but I do appreciate the fact that
they did do something together.
Somebody put something in my drink,
