>>Reality check. Many bands replace members. It's a
fact. There is nothing holy or sacred about the
original configuration of Led Zeppelin. Bonham was
talented and relatively unique. But it is not a
stretch to say another drummer would do a fine job.
You bury the dead and move on, that is all there is to
it. Your argument is sentimentality.<<
Oh my God, someone is making an emotional argument about a band?! The nerve!
How dare someone
not make a cold and clinical analysis of something that has a profound impact
on their emotions.
So you replace the band members as they die and keep the name alive, is that
it? So basically
your argument is what makes a band is the name and that the musicians are
irrelevant.
Interesting. Would you fork over $200+ to see a Keith Richards/Mick
Jagger-less Rolling Stones?
How about a Beatles "reunion" with Julian Lennon and Dhani Harrison subbing for
their fathers?
Would you pay the big bucks to see a reformed Band of Gypsies tour, but with
Dave Grohl on guitar?
But it's all the same thing right? You play the songs associated with the
name of the band and
everybody goes home happy cause it's authentic, yeah?
See, what you're forgetting is the chemistry involved. Plant and Bonzo were
childhood buddies,
so how is someone gonna come in and replace that? Bonzo was unique, and that's
it. Let the Led
rest in peace. If you wanna see them live, do what Jimmy suggests and throw on
the DVD.

PS: If you really think that there's nothing special about Zeppelin, then why
are you here?
Maybe you'd be more comfortable on the REO Speedwagon board.
