Re: Bonham San Diego 77

He had a "terrible fit of food poisoning" to
quote Plant on
the next date. During that tour he travelled
from airports to gigs
often in camper to have a toilet available
(according to the more
sensational accounts).

The story started because Bonham played so
badly at San Deigo 77. If
you listen to the tape you can hear him
missing loads of cues, losing
the beat, playing way too slow etc.... He
plays teribly all nite and
its easily his worst performance ever.
Because this is the only gig
where he plays anything like that bad, some
people said it wasn't
Bonham playing that nite and maybe there was
a replacement drummer.
This is crap though, any idiot can hear that
its Bonham playing, he's
just in a lotta trouble, probably off his
head. Anyway, no replacment
would have played that bad! The end of NFBM
is the funniest bit, by
the time Bonham hits the drums for the ending
the rest of the band
are halfway thru the next song!
