Being as I never took a lesson, had any teacher or read any books, can
only read rudimentary music due to my formal Bandura training so all I
can say is just pick up your guitar and play play play play every day.
Having the absolutely best rhythm section ever backing you helps of
course. But really, you just gotta keep on playing. I have made it habit
to never put all my guitars away anymore. I have several on stands
throughout my house, one in the D tuning used for WS/BMS/K, my 12 string
in the C used for Friends easily changed to the modified C for BYR, my
old LP copy to the open A for IMTOD and lastly my lovely LP in glorious
eadgbe.
