Shar's three-part reply came in response to a semi-sarcastic post of mine,
and was not directly prompted by your t-shirt proposal. By coincidence, she
happened to mention the potential legal problems of a proposal like yours.

The admin committee has been discussing your t-shirt idea. I don't think
anybody really has a huge problem with it, and certainly nobody has any beef
with you personally. It's more a question of ensuring that the mailing list
is not vulnerable to any legal action--only you would be, should it come to
that. The suggestion will probably be made that you may make one or two
posts to the list announcing how to contact you for ordering purposes, and
that further business be conducted by private e-mail.
