did you include the question marks because you're not
sure what those sound formats are? if so, i'll
explain.

DTS sound is similar to dolby digital 5.1 in that it
offers 5.1 channels (or perhaps 6.1 channels, in some
cases) of sound. the ".1" refers to low frequency
effects or, in other words, bass. typically, dts
soundtracks sound *BETTER* than their dolby 5.1
counterparts due to a much higher bitrate during the
encoding process. a lot of dvd's feature dts sound.
a side by side comparison can reveal *MAJOR*
improvements in some cases ('die hard', 'terminator
2') while in other cases, the differences are subtle
at best ('american beauty', 'meet the parents', etc).
supposedly, the dts soundtrack on the led zep dvd is
MUCH better than the dolby 5.1 track, but none of us
can yet confirm or deny that... or at least nobody
has. ;o) for more info about dts, go to www.dts.com.

as far as pcm, that's basically 2.0 stereo, nothing
real special. in most cases, these soundtracks don't
sound as good as dolby (or dts) 5.1 tracks.

hopefully this makes sense. if not, read it again.
