Boy, this makes me feel old...
It's very probably a reference to the great Britpop band XTC, who started
out in the late '70s. Their biggest early hits, which you may remember if
you're over 30, were "Making Plans for Nigel" and "Senses Working Overtime."
The band are still around, sort of.

...where it says, about one of their earliest sessions, for the album
"English Settlement."
"There were also several hours of cover versions (Hendrix, Led Zeppelin)
recorded during the _English Settlement_ days. A tape of these covers is
known to be in circulation."
So, my guess is you've probably run into references to those Zep covers
while hunting for Zep on Kazaa or some other file-sharing network.
