If this is any indication of your understanding about the proper techniques
for copying discs, it's just as well you don't trade.

The only lossy compression I recall seeing circulated on this list was
Duncan's MP3 tree, which was clearly labeled as such.  I'm not counting MD
sources, since the master was compressed to begin with.  I'm also not
counting VCDs.

SHN is not lossy.  Haven't we beat that dead horse enough in the past?  Yes,
technically there is a lossy variant, but it is not used for trading.

Why abuse a disc to the point it is damaged, then try to salvage it?  Make a
backup copy right away.  Better yet, take care of your discs in the first
place.  Those bits mean something to some of us.

If you use EAC with the proper settings, you can and will extract perfect
copies.  Some would say the right combination of Plextor hardware and
software works fine too.

If you configure your computer properly, you can and will burn perfect
duplicates.  Some would say a burner with BURN-Proof technology would also
suffice.
