Given my undoubtedly spotted reputation on this list,
I should probably be the last to comment, but Buckeye
has always been cool to me... even during moments when
I probably didn't deserve it. I can't think of even
one occasion when me and (in my opinion) the bipolar
poster we call Bill McCue have exchanged anything
other than verbal jabs.
I'll give Billy Bob his due tho. He digs some really
great Zeppelin shows and he at least tried to create a
better environment for discussing Zep. If his
reputation as a tyrant has any basis in fact (and I
would not presume to know), then maybe we ought to
start calling him Bill McZerxes. I wasn't invited to
join and I lost no sleep over it. Apparently his
private regime didn't go anywhere... why else would he
still hang out on FBO? Not that I don't like his
Zep-related nuggets b/c I do...
Nestor is probably concocting his own come back to all
this nonsense. He knows how to play the guitar, by
the way.
As for my own Zeppelin content...
I've been getting into the '69 tour for the first time
ever. I've never enjoyed it in the past for this
reason or that one. I guess it ultimately comes down
to my dislike for some of the songs on LZ 1. Picked
up my copy of Fillmore '69 (the precise date eludes me
as it at my apartment and I am at work) and was
suitably impressed. A better show than I remember.
Not as good as the beloved '72 tour, but still quite good...
