It is a conspirisy by the recording industry.
Just like I have witnessed the diameter of my favorite
bagles shink by a quarter inch per year, the recording
industry is, in fact, cheating us by delivering less and less
music every year.
A CD contains only about 44,000 samples per second.
MPEG delivery contains only about 20,000 samples per second.
In fact, they are only delvering a small part of the original music!
Ever wonder what they do with the rest of it?
Possible thoughts:
a) The MPEG delivery is actully made from the left over samples
from creating CD's from analog. Somewhere beneath the Navada
dessert is a huge top secret underground warehouse where they are
storing the some of the missing sound for future use as "Geatest Hits"
compilation CD's. The rest of the missing music is stored in underground
salt mines, and qualifies as a EPA superfund cleanup site.
b) The RIAA is secretly selling the leftover samples to NASA to
be beamed out into space in hopes that a far away world will
recognise them as signs of intelegent life on this planet, and they
decide to strike up a trade. Of course, the RIAA will come down
on this far away world as soon as they start sharing over the VUIMNS
(virtural universal intergalactical music network servers)
c) Jimmy is hording the all leftover samples.
Personally, I think the answer is "c". In fact, I actually believe
that thier was no thermin in the 98 shows... It was all a trick.
Jimmy carefully selected a few of the missing samples, and
sent them though the ol Echoplex! Further, Robert had no
clue he was actually using samples from unreleased material!
Dont believe me?
Take the thermin solos from the Page and Plant 98 tour
and play them backwards!!! If you take all the thermin solos
from the 98 tour, paste them together, then reverse the bits,
you get the soundboard souce for Seattle Supersonic show!
I appologise for my sillyness... Happy Holidays FBO :)
