Re: zeppelin-digest V3 #863

I really am starting to make a habit of this posting stuff amn't I?
Well, here's some more of my stubborn opinions to put you all in a bad
mood for the day.

First of all, I wanna let Jeremy here now, that my post was actually
DEFENDING my generation after someone said that the average 17 yr
old doen't know who Jimmy Page is.

That part was meant as a bit of a joke, i wasn't calling anybody
retarded. It was more a comment on the amount of people in my age
group who dont even know who people like Page or Clapton or Gilmour
is. I dont believe that they are retarded, but i do believe that they
are
narrow-minded.

I know all about that, can you imagine what it's like being the only
Zep
fan in a room full of little "Mini-Eminems". I learned a long time
ago that
I shouldn't care what the "cool" kids think of my music and i should
just
like what i like. The response i get from most people art school to
Led
Zeppelin is "who's he?" that really pisses me off. But i dont think
you
should just not tell what music you like, you should be proud of your
music taste, you dont have to shove it in everyones face but you
shouldn't hid it either.

Yes, there are quite a few, as i think i mentioned in my original
post. I
know plenty of people of my age that like Zep, Floyd, Neil Young, The
Who, Rolling Stones and some of the good modern bands like Pearl Jam,
Tool and At The Drive-In. But i dont know anyone who likes the Dead.

My parents dont like Zep, so im OK. They actually passed on an
opportunity to see them in this special thing in UCD (college) for
students. They were playing in a tiny little place. but they didn't
go.
B******s!!
