The only Zep-related WKRP trivia I can offer is the fact that the
lead singer of
"Scum of the Earth" was played by Michael Des Barres, former husband
of Pamela
Des Barres, aka Miss Pamela, who wrote a couple of tell-all books
about her
groupie days, one of which was titled "I'm with the Band." A certain
guitarist's
hotel room behavior was well chronicled in that one, as I recall.
Also, Michael Des Barres was the singer with Detective, an early
signing to the
Swan Song label. He was later the touring vocalist with the Duran
Duran side
project Power Station, replacing Robert Palmer, the original studio
singer. Des
Barres and Power Station played the Philadelphia Live Aid stage a
couple of
hours before a certain band's reunion...
