Zep in Amsterdam 5/27/72 (don't worry! Aerosmith content!)

While spinning random discs from my collection, I stumbled across
2CDR of
5/27/72 Amsterdam, Holland.

I can't remember who traded this to me, but they did a nice job of CDR
copying. I wrote "Analog Master->DAT->CDR->CDR" on the jewelliner,
but I am
always skeptical regarding lineages.

It's not a bad show.... in fact, Plant does some pretty impressive
screaming
during "Stairway."

But, I noticed that the first 6 minutes of the recording ("Immigrant"
and
the first 30 seconds of "H'breaker") are distorted, like "recorded in
the
red." Right after "Hey fellas, have you heard the news," the sound
level
drops to more tolerable level, and seems to remain there for the rest
of the
recording.

I suspect this may have been done "on the fly" during a generation of
copying. If my alleged lineage of the recording is accurrate, then I
suspect this occurred during the DAT mastering of the original "analog
master"... kinda like as if someone was monitoring the copying of the
analog
tape and when Plant screamed the first verse, it went in the red. So,
gently, the sound level was lowered.

Does anyone else have a source of this recording and would be
interested in
discussion?

Finally, I feel the need for manditory Aerosmith content.... why
can't Page
& Plant put out a video featuring Liz Tyler erotic dancing for Alicia
Silverstone dressed as a man? Is that not the best piece of rock
video
ever? Gaddawgie! Ya' figure both were teenagers when they shot that
video
years ago... and I really appreciate the suggestion of teenaged
lesbianism.
