"I don't know what to say, so I'm gonna say....I'm a donut!!!"-ev

Hello all,
I have returned from the irish corner of lurkdom, to say 1 or 2 things
about whats goin on here lately. I was just sitting here, trying to
ignore
friends on MSN while listening to the White Album, skipping the awful
Dont
Pass Me By, i thought, =93why the hell dont i post something here, if
all
these people can post their arguments about bands they like or hate,
then SO
CAN I (its things like this that make me stop listening to the
over-payed
ed committee of voices in my head.) If it's boring, its not my fault.
If my
typing is bad, its my fault.
So here ya go

<snipped for sanity>

>But if
>people are going to make comments about other bands how about a more
>positive
>thread like I really like the music of ___....

Ok, I really like the music of ___...Led zeppelin, Beatles, Pearl
Jam, Oasis,
At The Drive-In, The Who, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Neil
Young,
Radiohead, Stereophonics, The Verve, Ocean Colour Scene, Travis (when
im
in a silly mood), Bob Dylan, Turin Breaks, Jove, Orkid, Pennylicker,
Turn,
Co.uk, JJ72(cos we're good friends) and Eric Clapton.
There's probably more but i cant think of them.

>I think it's fair to say that LZ's later work (post-1975 in
>particular)
>and many live shows in the later period (paticularly the truncated
>1980 tour)
>is not as rich and inventive as the first five albums. Drugs,
>exhaustion,
>and rampant hedonism took a discernible toll.

Well, this ladies and gentlemen, is a brave Motherfucker!! Correct me
if im
wrong (thats just ASKING for flaming), but it seems to me that just
about
everybody here WORSHIPS the '77 stuff and they all seems to love
ITTOD and
Presence. Now, i havn't got the largest boot collection, well, 2 to
be exact,
so i cant comment on '77 shows, but i think their albums after PG
were all
a big let down. When they were originally released, they were spaced
out
a little to soften the blow, but i bought them pretty much in one big
go,
si for me it was traumatic!! The band i loved turned on me like a
woman driver
on a hair-pin turn (cue: more flaming). I just think they lost their
originality after PG, they weren't as captivating, apart from the odd
good
track eg. Achilles last Stand, In the Evening etc.

>Aerosmith could ejaculate into a Pepsi bottle, and Sony would sell
>it for $17.99. A great video could air on MTv. And, opening night
>live
>of the Ejaculate Tour (sponsered by Miller Genuine Draft) would
>beb'
>cast on VH1. The DVD would feature multiple angles and have
>interviews
>& outtakes. And... it would sell.

This is one of the funniest/truest things i've read here in a while.
Thank
you for brightening up my otherwise blindingly delightful day.

>But hey then again Garth Brooks sold 100 million albums so
>what the f$#% does the public know about good music anyway. ;)
>Later,
>Ron

This is the second truest/funniest thing ive read here in a while.

>I love Chris's idea of a special Zeppelin/FBO wine. But hey, guys,
>surely you're not planning to drink it!

Well, i am. (shhhh, dont tell the cops Im underage, heeheehee)

>Getting lots of leaf signups, and a few more branches are trickling
>in
>as well. Thanks to everyone for playing.
>Many of you signing on as leaves are expressing concern over the fact
>this is an SHN tree, and/or are specifying to me in your signup
>e-mails
>that you prefer to receive audio discs.

I'll say sorry here, rather than annoy you with another email. I did
say it
was my first tree sign up. Thanks though.
