Happy Trails PaleRider,
After posting some vehemently false, insulting and inappropriate
material,
PaleRider quickly unsubbed from FBO shortly thereafter.
By the way, contrary to PaleRider's accusations,
I'm not a member of OTO or the other group he mentioned.
I don't prosetylize for any religious group. I don't believe in
trying to
persuade anyone to join one's own church or any other church for that
matter.
I believe that all persons should be free to make up their own minds
about
what church they want to join, if any.
I think that if any studious individual takes the time to demystify
the
unknown, that person may easily overcome personal fear of matters
that on
the surface appear frightening. In doing so, anyone may thereby gain
objective knowledge that can give him or her the power to sustain
heartfelt
faith in a gentile manner.
As do most of you who subscribe to this list, I happen to dearly love
Led
Zeppelin's music.
However,
I simply refuse to suffer in silence the abuse slung at me from
PaleRider.
Here are the facts.
My original personal religious foundation is Presbyterian.
I am baptized in that faith.
I enjoy privately studying comparative contemporary alternative
religions,
with a primary emphasis on Welsh-Celtic, neo-Avalonian ideas. Joseph
Campell's and Carl Jung's ideas have been inspiring to me.
I lead a quiet life and I don't propose that anybody do anything
unless
they want to and it doesn't hurt themselves or the people around them.
I hope that someday PaleRider sorts out his confused emnities, sets
aside
whatever's bothering him, and honestly finds the courage to replace
his
anger with peace and brotherhood foremost in his heart.
At any rate I think that most of us agree we're part of this list
because
we thought that Led Zeppelin music appreciation and discussion were
our
primary focus. I've been keen on Zep since Halloween of '69.
The occasional side trip into posting about Rush and Aerosmith are not
withstanding of course.
(Insert grins and giggles here)
