RE: Bands that now blow

I beg your pardon, but "Metal Machine Music" SUCKED! SUCKED I TELL
YOU!!!!

For some not so shitty music, go out and get Faces' "Nice Boys...When
They're Asleep" from Rhino Records.

I'm curious. Any of you out there listen to the Dead?

Hee hee hee! Sorry, this whole "decline of a once great band" thing
is a
subject near and dear to my rock 'n roll heart, but I'll restrict my
follow-up comments to one post.

"Atom Heart Mother" is classic! An innovative composition that few
rock
bands would ever be capable of.

"Test For Echo" especially pisses me off. I actually bothered to
listen
to it, even had the disc for a while. Every good moment on that record
is immediately followed by the kind of weak wankery that has put me
off
the band's recent material. Whether it's a lame keyboard noodle, an
obtrusive plinkety-plunk on a Mongolian cowbell, or a bizarre
suspended
guitar chord, every three bars is ruined by the fourth. The lyrics
read
as if scrawled on TP whilst having a pre-session bowel movement. The
most heinous offender is "Virtuality"(?), that "Net boy, net girl"
song.
THAT song is the only ditty they ever penned worse than "Time Stand
Still".

"Grace Under Pressure" is the last album where Rush actually tried.

You're taking the piss, right? ;-P

BTW, Neil Young has never sucked, Lou Reed has never sucked, and as we
all know, Zep never sucked for even one second.
