Amnesty International would agree: it's hard to "bare" being 
"torchered"...

On a more serious note, here are some other bands that fell down 
those fabled stairs:

1.The Who (post-Keith Moon).

2.The Clash (post-Mick Jones).

3.Van Halen (after Roth left the first time).

4.The Temptations (Tour 2000-Diana Ross and unknown backups!).

5.The Doors (released two LP's after Morrison died, but perhaps they 
should have quit after the second album, or sent Morrison into detox).

6.The Byrds after 1970 (no main members left, but...).

7.Black Sabbath (without Ozzy).


I'm sure there are others.
