Hey everyone...
Well it's late, and after getting a ticket from a scalper here are
some
observations I had of the Chicago show tonight. First off, Plant was
in
good voice and many people know that I have done some harsh Plant
bashing in the past about his voice. Granted he is beyond his prime,
but he sounded pretty good tonight. I still get a little annoyed
with
the Egyptian yelps and the Yallah stuff, but that's just my opinion.
In
the Light was great, I still don't know which version I prefer, the
P/C
one or the Plant version. Morning Dew, Hey Joe, Season, and other
songs
turned into some really cool jam sessions...the screen in the
background
had the whole 60's Fillmore effect to it, maybe it was intended that
way. However, some songs such as BIGLY and WLL just are not the same
without Jimmy's presence, yes they were good but something was really
missing. The crowd was really into the Zeppelin tunes as always, but
as
soon as something unfamiliar was played there was a mad rush to the
bathrooms...sound familiar from the P/P tours??? Overall a great
show,
and when I have more I will try to post a complete setlist if one
hasn't
been posted already. One thing to point out was the 3 encores...the
3rd
encore ended with "Song for the Siren" which was unfamiliar to most
people again, and ended up leaving anyway. Oh, and one more thing to
point out was Plant's comments at the end of the 3rd encore...he
mentioned that a new cd is in the works and will be released shortly.
So even Plant is leaking more information about the cd than I
expected.
Anyway, that's it for now folks...good show but the Zeppelin tunes
are
just not the same with Jimmy, or Jonesy for that matter.
