As far as the most intense songs for me to listen to:
No Quarter (TSRTS version, the best version I've heard *yet*)
One by Metallica (as much as I hate them now)
A New Level by Pantera
Third Eye by Tool (absolutely incredible song)
Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine
and of course, Stairway to Heaven still blows me away, no matter how
many
times I've listened to it. This list is just off the top of my head,
flames
are welcome and laughed at.
The whole "Thank You" thread kind of sparked something with me too.
I used
to think it was kind of a sappy song, but I really appreciated more
after I
heard the BBC version, which has more of an "over the top" feel
(Bonzo's
fills/patterns, Jimmy's solo rocks). I prefer it alot over the Zep
II
version. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.
Also, while it's on my mind, which do you think is the best live
version of
No Quarter? Like I said, I like the TSRTS version ALOT, but I
haven't heard
enough versions to really be able to fairly judge it.
