Once again, I apologise for the lack of Zeppelin content. However, if,
like myself, you're also a
Genesis fan, then you might want to keep reading.
My all-time favourite boot is a vinyl copy of That Amazing Kornyphone
Record Label's "Awed Man
Out". This is Genesis at the beginning of their "The Lamb Lies Down On
Broadway" tour. Imagine
my delight when a local classic rock station re-broadcast a significant
portion of this set as
part of their "BBC In Concert" series. At the ready, I captured this
broadcast directly to my HD.
What I'm offering is the entire broadcast including all voice-overs,
with the commercials skillfully edited out. I made no other
'enhancements'.
The date is in dispute, the announcer claims it was recorded in
Novemeber of '74, yet all boot
references place this as 04/15/75. If the station is correct in it's
assertion that this is the
British debut of "Lamb" material then it is all the more pressing that I
share this historical
document. The sound quality is nothing but superb, being an FM
broadcast. The station is not even two
miles from my house (and equipment). This material has never been
released officially, yet has been the subject of a myriad of bootlegs.
This is what we're playing for:
Empire Pool, Wembley, London, UK 04/15/75(?)
FM broadcast
1. Introduction [1:24]
2. Watcher Of The Skies [7:36]
3. Cuckoo Cocoon [2:29]
4. In The Cage [6:40]
5. Back In N.Y.C. [6:13]
6. The Carpet Crawlers [5:47]
7. The Waiting Room/Anyway [8:25]
8. Ravine [4:44]
9. The Light Dies Down On Broadway [3:33]
10. Riding The Scree [4:18]
Total: [51:19]

This broadcast includes "Watcher Of The Skies" and "In The Cage", which
do not appear on the vinyl
boot. The vinyl boot includes the "Hairless Heart/Counting Out
Time/Carlet Crawlers" segment,
which is my favourite portion of the "Lamb", as well as "Lilywhite
Lilth" and the first four
minutes or so of "The Waiting Room" that was edited out of this
broadcast. Originally I was going
to include this with the broadcast as bonus tracks, but I think I'd
rather just disseminate the
broadcast as is.
This is a significant document in the history of Genesis and I feel
compelled to offer this to
fans of the band. Even if you're a casual fan, this is an excellent
moment in the band's career.
This will be a Shorten tree. I .shn'ed the orignal files so there is no
extraction in the equation.
This has already been uploaded to the alt.binaries.music.shn newsgroup.
If you have these files you can
either share them or go back to sleep.
This will be known as "Awed Man Out Redux". I will make available
high-quality artwork available via http.
NOTE: I'm not a fuckwit. If I didn't want to get this in a trade I sure
as hell wouldn't offer it.
This is a call for branches. This will be a single-disc tree. And no, I
won't be rescinding on this,
unless the station beats me up. Given their lame-o content, I think I
can take them. DO NOT REPLY
TO THE LIST!
Respond to this mail and include this standard tree stuff:

All sumbitted info will be kept private. This is about giving fans an
insight into Genesis' career and nothing else. Enjoy this recording and
buy all their official materal. At least until "Abacab", after that
you're on your own.
