A walk on the Boardwalk in 69'

Well since I have been trying to track the taper of this show for seven
long years and spending a fortune doing it I felt this urgent need to
post. Today is the anniversary of the show that took place thirty two
years ago on what must of been a hot muggy Saturday night at Convention
Hall on the Boardwalk.

When I researched this show in about half a dozen of the biggest
library's in NJ, I just couldn't believe the mighty Led Zeppelin played
the boardwalk on Woodstock weekend. Now, I live in Jersey and have all
my life, so I am just as proud as any native would be. My only regret is
not being old enough to realize what was happening. Eleven years old
with no older siblings, I just didn't stand a chance. Can you imagine
walking the boardwalk and seeing Robert doing the same. I just know he
must have. Hell, I have seen him in Atlantic City, so why not?

I would really like to know why they didn't play at Woodstock. Joe
Cocker who opened for them even flew by helicopter to up state NY to play
at the festival. As most everyone knows the traffic to Woodstock was out
of this world. Can you just imagine the video footage that should have
been?

I witnessed my first concert at Convention Hall way back in the summer of
1975. Not a great place to see a show, but it was nice and small.
Horrible acoustics. I have talked to quite a few people who attended but
I just can't find that tape. Not a good performance and there equipment
either was not there on time or not working properly. Rumor has it a
deadhead has the tape. I have a very strong lead on a guy who is about
fifty years old by now. But he will not even admit that he was there.
He claims he has at least two of the early philly shows and I believe him
for reasons I can't get into. They are too long to elaborate on. You
know by the way someone talks if they are bullshit or not. I'm going to
keep working him for awhile longer because I have not done everything
possible. But if I can't score, I'm going to throw him to the wolves. I
don't want to announce him yet because I know everyone will bombard him
and he is a really nice guy. Even claims to have uncirculated Hendrix
tapes. He used a Sony reel to reel for everything!

Would love to hear from others who were there or are also trying to find
this tape. Two heads are better then one. Post it so everyone can see.
