RE: Fun with LTTE

Ah, yes, the joys of LTTE.

I too was introduced to the live Led Zeppelin world with LTTE by a fellow
FBO'er that I happened to work with. I heard this boot and couldn't believe
my ears. After this, I wanted more. So he hooked me up with a few more of
the great shows like Osaka 9/29/71 and Gonzaga and a few others. After I
found out about the trading world, I wanted in and have been collecting as
much as I can and am loving every minute of it.

Subject: Fun with LTTE

Hi all!
Friday night I got a phone call from a friend I hadn't heard from in 8
years. He'd basically dropped out of life as far as anyone could tell. He
says he's coming back to life now, and wanted to come visit. He showed up
Saturday afternoon while I was still at work. I got home and my roomie had
some crap radio station playing Macy Gray or whatever that chick's name is
of all things! This friend I hadn't seen, his name is Eric, is a guitarist.
Any my roomie is playing the pop station?!?!?!?!?!?!? Argh!!! I
immediately went to the stereo, popped LTTE into the CD changer, and hit the
play button. Eric had never heard a Zep boot. He loves Zep. He has a
horribly sad story about missing the Mannheim '80 date, just before Bonzo
died. Anyway, after the first hour of raving about Jimmy and the boys, he
started asking all kinds of questions about how it was recorded, how I got
it, how anybody gets this stuff, what other shows are there, what quality
are they, and on and on and on. He ended with asking, 'so why don't the
surviving members of Zep make it their business to get one copy of every
boot recording that exits, clean the sound up, and releasing them? They'd
make so much money!' I explained about what happened with the Sessions
release, and he said, 'well, they just have to let us have it all and in
order. It's too good not to! Live Zep gives the fans a whole other aspect
of them.' I burst out laughing then, and couldn't explain why to him. But
really it was the parallel to this list that was killing me! He has no
computer, so I couldn't turn him on to the list, but I will when he gets a
comp.
I'm burning him a copy of LTTE for the next time we get together.
Just wanted to share my fun in introducing someone to the joys of Zep boots!
