Hi everyone: Hope your week is off to a good start -- and may I say, the
list has been especially good the last couple of days! People being
civil (thanks!), lots of interesting stuff brought up...and good to hear
from so many other Lady Badgeholders who got into our band for their
stellar MUSIC first and foremost! I can't agree more...for me, it still
IS about the MUSIC above all else. Hell, when I said that after seeing
TSRTS the first time, I was on the floor moaning, "ZEPPELIN RULES!!",
that wasn't even a sexual thing. Seriously. (And it was more of a mutter
than a moan anyway...wrong term on my part!) I was in that state because
that little film of our boys in concert -- the first time I'd ever seen
any live Zep footage AT ALL -- had just blown my mind...spiritually and
emotionally as well as musically. I have reached a similar state after
listening to/watching other truly great musical performances, live and
recorded...Renaissance or medieval music, Bach's Brandenburg concertos,
Handel's Messiah, Miles Davis's work, John McLaughlin's, Frank
Zappa's...and believe me, it ain't a sex thing with any of them! Now I'd
be lying if I said I never found our boys attractive. But even if they
looked like horse's butts, I would still love the music. And anyway, in
my view, my husband tops them :)
As to the source of the famous EC vid, I just assumed I hadn't read my
digests carefully and missed the story of where this "grail" originally
came from...but if other people are asking, then I guess I'm not the
only one? Where, indeed, is it from? Is it unprecedented generosity on
the boys' (or at least Jimmy's) part? Wicked thievery? Or should we just
be glad it's finally circulating and not look a gift horse (or perhaps,
a gift bunny) in the mouth? :)
Speaking of Monty Python and the Holy Grail references, which I'm also
glad to see popping up lately...did y'all know Zep contributed to its
financing? (Them and Pink Floyd, apparently.) What a shame they didn't
write any music (that we know of...or would that be still more
unreleased stuff sitting in the vaults??) for it...but then again, could
they have improved on "The Legend of Brave Sir Robin"?
Cheers,
Jenzi
