Said Larry L: "Full reunion?? That's impossible, for obvious reasons.
Led Zeppelin ended in 1980, period. No drummer, ever, could replace Bonzo. "
Granted, no one could REPLACE Bonzo, in the same sense that no one has ever
replaced Keith Moon. However, last year Pete hired a capable drummer (the
surprisingly able Zak Starkey) and they just about blew the doors off MSG
both nights I went. I don't feel they did any dishonor to Moon's legacy by
calling themselves the Who.
To say JP, JPJ and RP should never reunite as Zeppelin because it wouldn't
be as good as it with Bonham is sort of throwing out the baby with the
bathwater. If it's a matter of respect, they can call themselves the Nobs
again.
This is probably a pointless discussion, as I don't think we'll ever see it.
I bet a lot unpleasantness went on behind the scenes than any of us could
ever guess at. "We lost his phone number" indeed!
