If Page was in possession of the "master soundboards," the fact that a
soundboard source exists for the various vinyl and CD releases of Earls Court
IV, 24/5/75 doesn't mean he doesn't have them any more, or that they were stolen
from him (is what you meant?). All that was required was for one copy of the
video to leak out--which is evidently what happened. It's out there; people have
seen it. Someone even put one up on eBay a few months back (What was the deal
with that in the end? Was it bogus?). As far as I can tell from reading various
books and websites, the so-called soundboard source is in fact the video
soundtrack.

What matters--as I believe you are trying to say later in your post--is whether
he is or ever was in possession of multi-track, professionally recorded audio
tapes of the show. This is the only way the show could be released on video with
acceptable, i.e., properly mixed, sound. If he planned at the time to release it
eventually, he surely would have made sure the audio was recorded properly.

As far as we know, the only soundboard cassette tapes that were stolen from JP
were from '73 (this happened in 1988, and the thief or thieves also made off
with Outrider material--Page supposedly had enough to make a double album).
Presumably they are the source for some of the good-sounding boots like Mobile,
Seattle and Buffalo.

Sorry if I'm covering ground that's already been covered--I'm sure a lot of you
reading this already know this stuff.
