To thank all the FBO listmembers who have helped me build my Zep collection,
I have decided to do a tree. However, since the Zep stuff I have comes
mostly through this list, I really don't have anything new to tree, so I had
to rummage through some friends collections for rare material that is only
Zep-related.

Closing Date 7/3/99 (Please do not sign up as a branch if you cannot fulfill
branching obligations next month)

The other reasons I'm running this tree:
1) Summer's here, and we all need a good mix tape for the car or for a
barbecue.
2) It's an antidote to the recent flames on the list. Does anybody remember
laughter? Hopefully this will give you a bustle in your hedgerow.
3) To provide you with an aural (not oral) document of the kind of scene that
the likes of Carmen and Scarlet are a part of, so you no longer have to be
jealous, and this requires no long posts to fill your in-box!
4) You can now play six degrees of Zeparation with the material on the tape,
instead of on the list. If you can't figure these out, I'll provide the
answers later.
5) For nostalgia's sake -- a year ago, there were still analog trees, and now
they're seen as a curse. Well, everything on this tape tree is sourced from
analog -- no glitches on this tape from buffer under-runs or dig-noise. Just
familiar ol' analog hiss that you can adjust with your equalizer and a few
vinyl crackles. I would have treed this on 8-track, but I lack the proper
equipment!

This tree will consist of a compilation of various audience and soundboard
sources, with varying quality, interspersed with soundbites from groupies and
a few of the boys, all dealing with life on the road and off-stage, etc. The
record levels are set properly, so nothing should distort, no levels are
pinned, nothing is hissy because of low levels. In other words, this was a
labor of love (or lust) -- I tried to go with less obvious choices when
putting this together.

One tape, 90 mins., quick & easy.

Branches will be required to accept 2:1 blanks, or blanks and postage, or a
fair trade worked out between the parties involved. Please use decent blank
media that both parties can agree upon. Although it's good and fine to
listen to this on a boombox, in all likelihood it's not a good idea to sign
up as a branch if you're intending to dub on a boombox or a compact stereo
system.

Hope those of you who sign up for this get a chuckle out of this one.

Cheers,
Derek Lee
