Entertainment highlights during the week of June 27-July 3:
65 years ago: Bette Davis starred in ``Of Human Bondage.'' The film made her
a star.
55 years ago: ``Bathing Beauty'' starred Esther Williams. It was Williams'
first starring role, and the film had a spectacular aquatic finale.
45 years ago: Mae West, surrounded by strong men, opened her new act at the
Sahara in Las Vegas.
40 years ago: Otto Preminger's ``Anatomy of a Murder'' starred James Stewart,
Lee Remick, Ben Gazzara, Eve Arden and George C. Scott.
35 years ago: Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr and Sue Lyon starred
in John Huston's ``Night of the Iguana.''
30 years ago: John Wayne starred as Rooster Cogburn in ``True Grit.'' He won
an Oscar for his performance.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience played its final concert, which took place at the
Mile High Stadium in Denver.
And Led Zeppelin topped the bill at the ``Pop Proms'' at London's Royal
Albert Hall.
20 years ago: Roger Moore was James Bond in ``Moonraker.''
10 years ago: The Who performed the rock opera ``Tommy'' in its entirety in a
benefit for autistic and abused children. The performance at New York's Radio
City Music Hall was part of the band's reunion tour.
Spike Lee's film ``Do the Right Thing'' starred Lee, Danny Aiello and Ossie
Davis.
And singer Tom Jones got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Five years ago: Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam testified before a
congressional hearing about rising concert ticket prices.
One year ago: Entertainer Harry Belafonte led several hundred people in a
chorus of ``Day-O'' after Philadelphia Mayor Edward G. Rendell presented him
with the city's first Marian Anderson Award for humanitarian efforts.
Spoken 10 years ago:
``It's hard to find something that will carry a scene, especially when you
know there's going to be a jet engine or machine-gun fire. Even the Batmobile
