Jimmy Page Taps The Black Crowes For Charity Gig The Black Crowes' Chris and
Rich Robinson
Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes will team up for a special one-off benefit
concert being held at the Cafe du Paris in London on June 27.
Page personally asked the Crowes to serve as his backing group for the
charity show, which will feature a mixture of both Page and Black Crowes
songs as well as some cover tunes selected specifically for the event by
Page and the Crowes' Chris and Rich Robinson.
Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Action for Brazil's Children's
Trust, a charity Page sponsors that provides aid to poor and underprivileged
youths in the South American country.
The concert will be a reunion of sorts for the legendary Led Zeppelin axeman
and the Southern trip-rock band, as the Black Crowes opened a string of
dates on the Jimmy Page/Robert Plant No Quarter Tour back in 1995.
The Black Crowes have also demonstrated its familiarity with several songs
from the Led Zeppelin repertoire recently, as the band incorporated snippets
of "Dazed and Confused" and "Whole Lotta Love" into its live set during the
Crowes' recent tour with Lenny Kravitz and Everlast.
