Re: Page Outrider LP

Hey all,
I decided to pop this disc in and give it a listen. Really not a bad album, but
could probably have used a bit more work. The three instrumentals are probably
my favorite tracks on the album. The Only One (with Robert) is also one of the
standouts. It sounds as if it was specifically written for Plant, and if I remember
right, Page said shortly after it was released that he did write it with Robert in
mind.

The only real distractor of the album is the vocals and lyrics of Chris Farlow.
God, I really can't see why Jimmy kept going back to this guy. (he also worked
with him on the Death Wish II soundtrack) I mean, c'mon, "I gotta weasel in my
pocket and I'm gonna stick it down that hole"?????

Also, another thought. Outrider was released on Geffen records. It's never really
been touched on that I can remember, but Jimmy had probably signed a two
record deal with Geffen, and since Coverdale was also on the label, that was
most likely one of the main driving factors in the colaboration.

Bless your socks,
Larry
