Hi all
There's a very important point here. Has anyone ever actually been to the
Taj Mahal??? Well I have OK, and there's no way in hell they're going to
let a rock concert be staged there. There are armed guards there 24 hours
a day to stop tourists causing any damage and EVERYONE is searched before
being allowed to enter. They are absolutely paranoid about any damage
being caused to this magnificent building, and rightly so. It is already
experiencing a lot of damage from the 25000 visitors a day that it gets.
As for the practicalities fo stagina concert there, well the bands would
NEVER EVER be allowed to set up on the platform of the Taj Mahal - that's
sacred territory. Secondly, the Taj Mahal is a series of buildings and
gardens and if an audience wanted to sit anywhere the place would get
wrecked.
I'm going to go out on a limb here - if there is a concert in India, it
wont be in the grounds of the Taj Mahal. Anyone care to take me up on this
little bet???
Cheers
Richard
