GODZILLA AND X-FILES SOUNDTRACKS EXPECTED TO BE STAR-STUDDED
Though the soundtracks for the upcoming films Godzilla and the X-Files
are still being kept under wraps, some information surrounding these
projects has started to leak out.
As for the Godzilla soundtrack, which is scheduled for release at the
end
of April on Sony Music Soundtrax/ Epic Records, it is expected to
feature
such songs as the Wallflowers' cover of David Bowie's "Heroes"; a Puff
Daddy and Jimmy Page collaboration on a remake of the Led Zeppelin
classic
"Kashmir"; and Jamiroquai's "Godzilla Is a Killer," as previously
reported
in allstar.
In addition, songs from such acts as Rage Against the Machine,
Silverchair, Beck, and Green Day are also rumored to be on the album. A
spokesperson for Epic Records, however, couldn't confirm any of these
artists because the final track listing has not yet been announced. The
film is scheduled to be released via TriStar Pictures in May.
Even more veiled than the Godzilla soundtrack is the X-Files project.
The
only thing that has been confirmed about the X-Files endeavor is that
the
film will yield two releases, one a various- artists soundtrack album
and
the other a score album, both of which are expected to be released in
early
June on Elektra. Unconfirmed to appear on the soundtrack are tracks from
the Foo Fighters, the Dust Brothers, and Beck. The film is scheduled for
release on June 19 via Twentieth Century Fox.
More information on these soundtracks is expected to be announced
sometime next week.
