For once my copy of my favourite French rock mag (Rock & Folk) was in
advance. Not bad since I expected it eagerly to know what they had to
say about the recent events. Well there's not much but as it's said in
the title of the article, it's just a first taste. Actually it's only
the translation of an English review (they don't say wich one but it's
not the Uncut one). There's a very nice, and recent, picture of Jimmy
Page with his Danelectro, better than nothing.
I'm sure there will be more, this mag was among the first ones to
support the Zep in the early days. Now the young journalist who used to
be so enthusiastic is the redactor and he never misses an occasion to
talk about his pals. I know why I keep writing to him. And it pays, he
once published a letter I wrote to him while still under the heavy
impression of the then new "No Quarter". I was so completely happy that
day and I wonder if a little bit of this feeling will be there when I'll
hear "Walking into Clarksdale" for the first time. Unlike most of the
people here I still didn't hear it, not that I didn't try but my
computer doesn't seem to support me in this quest. Oh well! I always
liked the expectation too!
