Hi all!
I apologize again for the non-Zep content.
Cosmic Jimmy:
I posted because of your polemic between your band and
Grant/Michael White. And because Grant mentioned Custard Pie.
I replied because some Badgeholders asked us to come and
play at the next Zepfest, and I thought Custard Pie may have
been involved in polemics like that, in some ways. And I want
to avoid that.
Last thing I wanted in my life was to impose my band on another
one. And I didn't want to act like a professor. I still have
to learn a lot of things about Music.
You wrote:

I don't think having a good equipment may be a virtue, a merit.
On the contrary, it means that you had the money to purchase that.
It doesn't mean you're "the best".
IMHO having the same equipment of your heroes doesn't mean
they sounds exactly the same. It depends on your personal
touch.
We already had a discussion like this on DG, last year.
> Theres no tribute band like us.
I play the bass since I was 11, and now I'm 39. In these 28 years
I've learned that there's *always* someone better, whatever you're
doing. In the specific case, there are so many tribute bands all
over the world who are very good, and many of them don't have a
webpage, and no money to purchase good equipments, but they're
good, indeed. And I believe you're good too.
I really appreciate your devotion and your hard working, but I
criticized the fact you seemed to impose your band on Michael
White, who is a very good musician, a well estimated song writer,
and a friend of my guitarist. And the fact Grant decided to hire
the White shouldn't be criticized, just because you're a musician.
Since I've never liked competitions like that, I wrote "relax. I already
had my part of glory", because I don't want to be in
competition with anybody. I remember bands that were growing
up when I was playing with my band, and their "password" was:
"We'll kick Raff's ass". How stupid.
Custard Pie don't have to demonstrate anything to anybody,
we didn't make a living on that, and it would be great if
we could play on the "same ticket".
I never received your answer to my request (yes, it was me), and
of course I'd love to see you guys on stage, so please E-mail me
privately so that you can tell me what's the deal about it.
God, Jimmy, just *play*, and if someone likes you, he will call
you... be sure and go ahead.
Hope one day we can share a beer together.

Hahahahahahaa... Good one! :)
Naw... it's not a matter of ego, it's only that I spitted blood
for too many years, when I was playing as a professional, and
I always hated the fact someone tried to impose himself, I hated
Music competitions and wars between "poor people".
My post was in defense of Michael White, not Custard Pie, because
as they say "the absent and the dead are always wrong"... :)
Ciao, Peace & Music
Bruno
