Misogny, Mucus and Monica's Favourite Splashshot.

Greetings Walkers Into Clarksdale,

Thank you to all with setlists and concert postings from the latest
Page/Plant concerts. Keep 'em coming!

Mighty Thor:

Thanks for your announcement that you will update the FAQ!

Err .. it wasn't a dream, was it? Oh, well, just a lube job, then
thanks.

Clive:

I think someone's stirring the pot here! But seriously Clive, _Presence_
is my favourite Led Zeppelin album by far, both in this galaxy _and_
this universe.

Tim:

Long time no post!

I agree absolutely. Running on pure heart and soul as they say. It's so
_honest_ that it commands respect. Now I love the Zeppelin circa 1969,
but I *believe* _Tea For One_ a lot more than I do _Babe I'm Gonna Leave
You_.

I better qualify that last one by stating that I love BIGLY and it
certainly doesn't fall flat, but I think _Presence_ demonstrates Plant's
world weary experience in a way that he wasn't capable of in 1969. And I
find that more moving.

This is an interesting thread. Personally I would vote to leave the past
unchanged, because our heroes were informed by all their life
experiences, good and bad. And from that came the music we love.

As for the slow lingering and embarassing death of the Zeppelin should
Bonzo not have died, we can only speculate. I refuse to acknowledge that
Elvis ever got fat, so don't ask me for a rational opinion. ;-)

Killer:

How could I pass up with that intro?

> There is a distinct difference between running an article in a

He's got a point. I agree that Robert deserves some privacy and John
Bonham's grave should be treated respectfully.

> >Wanna know what I think? I think you're a self righteous, green-eyed,

> >whining little shit.
> Hmmm...who winds up coming off like the whiner here? Judges?

I don't think Billy is whining, just expressing his opinion about the
whole privacy/respect issue. Calling someone a "little shit" invites him
to call you a "fat assed skank" or somesuch, doesn't it?

> I'm a misogynist. My girlfriend got a big kick out of that one. My
Mom,

Billy is not a misogynist, that's for sure. I don't think his comments
are motivated by jealousy, misogyny or anything else other than he
thinks Robert should be left alone!

> In a foul mood with no love in my heart at the moment,
> Billy

Give us a kiss, Ducky?

Mitch:

Tal! mighty Banth tamer.

> this has got to be the stupidest post I've ever seen on FBO or DG, and
Clive,
> you've had lots of competition.

Mitch, I think Clive is performing a Kiwi ritual known as "pulling your
leg" ... perhaps he would prefer your finger after all?

Clive:

> What the fuck's your problem? Any claim to a stupidity award you've
> bestowed on me can now be yours - only a TRUE idiot would disagree
with
> what I said.

Let off that drag, Clive, you gonna lose all those fish you're catching
...

Eddie:

:-)

Jeff:

> by any means, an easy album to follow. It's dark, it's from the

Oh, yes, that's it! Dark and from the heart. And you're so right; either
you've been through the same sort of experiences and feelings (in which
case _Presence_ gets played a lot) or you haven't, and maybe the full
majesty is lost to you for now.

> do. Now, it is all fine and well that you don't agree. But please
Clive, don't
> tell those of us who do find that special place tucked away deep in
the heart
> where this album resides, that we are idiots to feel this way.

He's yankin' your chain!

Clive:

> I grew up thinking EVERYONE knew why Led Zeppelin were unique, great,
> orgasmic, one of a kind, whatever. It would appear I was sadly
mistaken.
> Sob.

You're the reason _Hot Dog_ was written; you're the rubber band as it
*snaps* and ... I _love_ you for it, man, I really do. Let's hug, tear
streaks, snotty faces and all.
