hello all,
i have been somewhat of a lurker for a few weeks and so must compliment those
who have post concert reviews, they make me even more eager to want to see
page and plant perform live.
Being young, i have never had the chance to see zeppelin live, so frankly, i
dont care what they play, but i can understand how people who have seen them
would like to see them play new stuff. However, wouldn;t you want to hear the
new stuff first? What if you didnt like the new stuff? then wouldnt you want
to hear more of the old stuff? Oh well, i am pretty sure the new music will
be excellent! i cant wait to pick it up when it comes out!
Anyway, i have had a question that has been bothering me, thought that maybe
someone here might know the answer. I read "Hammer of the Gods" by Stephen
Davis a couple of months ago, and in it he went throught and thorougly
explained some of the stories behind many zeppelin songs. However, when he
got to Dyer Maker, he failed to explain it saying that it was not appropriate
for the book, kinda strange if you ask me because that book had a lot of
gruesome stuff in there about what zeppelin did during their tours and stuff.
I looked through the internet and stuff but my attempts to find the answer
failed :( If anyone knows the story behind this song, if you could inform me i
would be greatly indebted. All i know at the moment is that it is a slight
take off of Jamaica and reggae, whether or not that is even true, oh well.
Thanks in advance!
~Adam - hopefully no longer a lurker :)
