Received my copy of "Illustrated Collector's Guide to Led
Zeppelin (CD Edition Volume 2)" today and was kinda disappointed as well. 
The picture quality did suck in this new edition when compared to the first
one. 
Many were somewhat blurry. Too bad I would have paid more for clean photos
of the covers.  Seemed kinda rushed in some way.
It is cool to have the track listings and to see the actual covers.  That
definately helps sometimes.
Aside from the track listings, a quick look at or print out of Trampled
Underground and Underground Uprising would give me more than enough info. 
 
I couldnt believe how many times he indicated that a boot was a reissue! 
What a
waste of space!  Another reissue. Another reissue.
Even a moderate amount of  homework could establish wether or not it was a
reissue.  Maybe he could have indicated something else about the CD
instead.

I was especially taken aback with his Page/Plant CD reviews.  I have
Together Again IV and would easily rate it a 9 as would many who have heard
it.  Even the fanzines I have seen have given it a 9.  Godwin gives it a 7.
 Other shows I have noticed in the book listed as 7s.  Tampa 73, Pontiac
77, NY 69, Copenhagen 71, and even the new Brussells 75 tape if you can
imagine! 
 I have some great tapes of these shows but they dont hold vodka to the
quality of that LA show.  Many of the Page/Plant shows which are great
sounding are given 7.  In fact many Zeppelin shows are rated higher than
stuff made from the tapers section in 1995! Very strange.


HEY MERIT!  You deserve a plug.  Great service once again.  My badgeholder
got it in time for my B-Day. Keep up the great work!  

Not bad for 20 bones though.  This bad boy is still going in my bag along
with Rey's beat down
book, Godwin's other one, and my reams of printed pages.  You should see
the highlighted madness that are my guides in life.

Naked lesbians would be a nice addition as opposed to another reissue
spiel.
Maybe the next one.
