I don't know what the f**k you're talking about,
my dear drumming friend, J.R.!

I have three of those Ludwig Speed King pedals
all of late '60s to '70s vintage and none of them
squeak. You just have to squirt some lubricant in
the bearing area once in a while.
I guess the drum tech for Bonzo at the time, did
not think of doing this... :-)
Whenever I bought one of the old pedals, used from
a store clearance, I would take it apart, clean it,
re-grease it and put it back together. No squeaks!

I tried many different brands: Tama, Pearl, Sonor,
Yamaha and none of them have the same feel as the
Ludwig Speed King. I'm going to try the DW 5000
series and let you know. Still if the Speed King was
good enough for Bonzo, it is good enough for me.

 Ciao!
 Eric
