Re: Fast Times w/ Zeppelin

unfortunately, the movie came out in the "in-between" time----the Zep
had crashed with Bonzo's death, and Page & Plant had yet to make any
"commercially successful" solo albums.  this made Zeppelin a prime
target for "dinosaur" jokes, etc. amongst the preppie set.
my sister was in high school during the 80s, and her main musical
influences were Billy Idol, Adam Ant, Madonna, Janet Jackson, and
Micheal Jackson---very common for teenagers of that decade,
unfortunately.  however, i am happy to report that due to a 2-day car
trip down to Florida, i was able to "convert" her in the late
80s----since there was no escape, she was bombarded by the entire
Zeppelin catalogue, as well as all of Percy's solo albums
to date (at that time).  needless to say, she "saw the light."  funny
thing is, my mother (who was also on the trip and up to then could only
identify Gordon Lightfoot when she heard radio tunes) also decided that
she liked some of the Zep and RP stuff----miracles do happen! 
now, so you can all gnash your teeth (along wth me) in envy---my mother
is a consular officer, and has given visas to Paul McCartney, David
Bowie, Elton John, ALL the Stones, and of course----our dear
boys---Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.  here's the real BITE---although she
has all their home addresses & phone numbers, it's all
"confidential/classified."  so no matter how much i beg, whine, &or
threaten, i get NADA!  altogether now---ARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!
thought i'd share my pain with y'all----let us all weep together------
