Reading Accommodation: The Bad News

Hello UK and Europe,

I'm afraid I'm going to have to back out of my offer to arrange Friday
night accommodation in Reading. I've had a massive project dumped on my
desk and very little time to complete it.

I didn't get a huge response to my offer, but for those who were
interested: my plan was to get Reading Tourist Office to do their
accommodation booking service thing ie give them the number and type of
rooms, preferred location, max price etc and they'd sort it all out for a
nominal fee. It you want to do this yourself then mail me and I pass on
the number of the office (I don't have it to hand today).

>From what I remember the Holiday Inn was pretty close to the site but not
exactly cheap (if anyone can get a better corporate discount than me, let
me know!). If you want to take on the task of co-ordinating it for the rest
of us then be my guest, I can pass on the names of the interested parties.

Regardless of that I'm sure we can meet up somewhere before or during the
event (the Lemon Tree Cafe has been suggested). I'm not 100% sure what my
plans are going to be for that weekend, I might not fly back from Dublin
until the Thursday and then stay two nights in Reading.

Does anyone know of any company offering short package breaks in Dublin
that include The Clarance Hotel (the one owned by Bono and the Edge)? You
can book a room over the web for 175 quid per night which is only slightly
less than you pay for two nights in a top notch gaff including flights in
some of the brochures I've looked at.

(Interesting Dublin fact: you can be pissed out of your head in a pub by
08:00am)

Cheers and Sorry
