this goes hand in hand with the RIAA's crackdown on tape trading..there is
no profit being made (there shouldnt be....!), just free music being
passed around, and the record companies, who claim to care about their
artists (yet take 99% of the profits from record sales...thats an
exaggeration but my point is made) claim they are getting ripped off..but
if they dont own the recordings and have no intention of releasing them
anyway, what are they losing?! this doesnt hurt zeppelin, or the who, or
the beatles livliehood..they are set for life, all this is is
proliferating the music to the masses...seems like a big scream over a
minor minor threat by the RIAA, but hey, they gotta have something to do
to justify being paid too much to rip off artists and giving them too
little...
