(NZC) WEB page design questions

OK Badgeholders.

I know some of you are quite experienced with WEB page design.  I am pretty
computer literate, but am just now getting involved with WEB design.  My
present boss/co-worker has asked me to develop a WEB pase or WEB site for our
landscape design company.  I am looking for INFORMATION about software, design
shortcuts, service providers, fees, etc.  I am starting from scratch, so for
now, please be as non technical as possible.  As I get more experienced with
this, I am sure some of you will be of great help.

I know some of you also do WEB design as a job - I am not in a position to
contract out this job, so I would appreciate any advice and not an offer to do
the page for me.

Please respond to my email and not to the list - the less clutter on
