For what it's worth, subscribers to "Propaganda", the official U2 fan club,
have been able to purchase decent tickets to every PopMart show. Seems like
the same deal as Aerosmith. Could Trinifold/Page and Plant do it if they
wanted to? Sure! Will they? Doubtful. They just don't feel the need.
I don't mean this as an insult, just an observation: compared to lots of
other bands, Led Zeppelin and now Page/Plant haven't been very fan-friendly.
It's not that they don't appreciate us. On the contrary, most people who
have met the boys on tour have been treated very well (I don't mean the
groupies, either). It's just that they don't let the fans have much input
or information. There's no offical fan club. There's no official
newsletter. You can't write to them and get a response. They're not
available on E-mail. They most likely have never read this list (or DG
before it). There is very little band/fan communication. That's just the
way they are. Every now and then Hugh or Grant talks to Trinifold, that's
about it. Maybe it's part of that "Zeppelin mystique".
