Carl Perkins dies (NZC)

Carl Perkins, rockabilly performer who influenced Elvis Presley and the
Beatles, died today at age 65 of a series of strokes.  There will be more
information later, but the local news broke into programming here this
afternoon because the station comes from his hometown of Jackson, TN.  Jean
