It seems to be saying that you can legally
make & distribute copies of legitimate releases, so long as the value is
less than $1000. Hmmm... >>
Unfortunately, Scott, I don`t think that`s the case. Maybe there`s a lawyer on
the list who can verify.I think this passage is defining the difference
between the "forfeiture and seizure" as described in the first passage, and
"Criminal Infringement", a more serious incident for which someone can be
arrested and tried in court in addition to having material seized.
Therefore, it means that if you possess tapes or bootlegs they can be taken
from you. If you sell these materials for over 1000 dollars in a 6 month span,
you can also be prosecuted in a court of law. It`s like the difference between
possession of a controlled substance verses selling that substance. The 2nd is
more serious.
