Plant's Voice

I actually prefer Plant's voice after 1972.  I thought it had too much power in the early days and that the restraint he used from 1973-1994 
was becoming to him.  I also felt his voice was at its worst during 1995-1996 because it lacked the improvisational element of some of his 
solo tours from the Eighties. I sort of hope he's smoking and drinking again for the tour in 1998 so his voice can recapture its bluesy edge.

Also, what is DG?  It seems like there are strong emotions concerning it, but I'm an uninformed newcomer.
