For me, the definitive proof that no "backwards masking" exists in
"Stairway" is that you can hear the same string of words, whatever the
hell it is, when you any of the live versions backwards. This strongly
suggests that it's just an accident, an unintentional effect produced by
stringing together some words. Obviously it cannot be considered a
studio trick.

What's more interesting, however, is the fact that people continue to
believe in the band's link with Satan, both on the religious right and
right here.
