Re: What family and friends think

Rather than hating Zeppelin, most of the people I
go to school with have no idea who they are. I
either get the response "Who's he?" or they confuse
them with some other group. I think the last
comment I got was "Led Zeppelin? I love them...
didn't they do 'Runaway Train'?"
My friends, who all happen to be many years older
than I am, either love Zep or soon learn to.

My sister, 17, introduced my to Zeppelin. She says
she still likes them but only listens to them
when I play it. My brother, 11, doesn't listen
to anything really.

My father reminds me of JPJ. He plays keyboards
and has a pretty varied taste in music. His
favorites are the Animals and Neil Young. He
drives me everywhere and lets me play anything
I want to. He rarely comments so I have to
guess on which songs he likes. It's a good sign
when he misses a turn because he's into the music.
When I first played "Down by the Seaside", he
said to me "Is this Zeppelin? They're really good!"
I guess you have to know him to know how important
that is. He was tapping the steering wheel when
he heard "Boogie with Stu". The only time he
has touched the cd player when I'm with him was
to replay "South Bound Saurez".

My mother is another matter. She listens to musicals,
Enya, some 60s pop, classical music. Then every now
and then she hears something on the radio she loves
that seems out of place ("Fly", "How Bizarre", "Tubthumping").
I've tried playing her some of the softer Zep which
she rejected. She says she doesn't like "males with
high voices". The only song she will admit she likes
is "Battle of Evermore". She likes P/P, especially
"Friends", but refuses to listen to Zeppelin.
Any suggestions?

Actually, the reason I'm upstairs on the computer is
because my grandmother is visiting and my mother has
forbidden us to play any of "our music" within earshot.
It's driving me crazy.
