I'm not being paranoid or untrusting here, it just blows my mind that a first gen from
master tape would fall into my lap like this! :-) I'm certainly not anything remotely close 
to an "inner circle" tape trader by any means. If anyone can shed some light for me, it 
would be much appreciated.

Well, I *am* being paranoid and untrusting. It may well be that he took his "information" 
(length of show, cuts, etc.) directly from Rey in hopes it would lend the cache of authenticity.

Then again, do the trade, and find out I guess. But as you say, it does seem pretty incredible. 
I mean, have it (hoard it?) all this time and then release it just to get Manchester '71? Seems, 
uh....unlikely.
