Since you feel that has to be said, I feel I have to say this. The point
that no tape deck will improve a crappy sounding bootleg is true but
extremely pointless when concerning people who want to trade with quality
equipment. I have recieved enough tapes by people who maintain "it's an A
soundboard low gen" and it turns out to sound like a vacuum. I search
for low gen tapes. I can tell when something is not the gen it claims it
to be (yes I can it's called lots of hours). This is a result of someone
not knowing there equipment and not relizing that some people really care
about
the quality of the live music in their collection. Example: I was a leaf
on a tree. I got the tape HIIIISSSSSSSSs. not exceptable for supposedly
for two generations. So i traded for a lower gen. The two generations
that the leaf tape had should never have sounded like it did if it would
have been done on quality equipment.

Yeah, no matter how good your equipment is it isn't going to make it sound
any better but why make it sound worse? And, personally I don't want to
waste my time trading with someone who doesn't know the difference.

Just a thought

And if you think I am an elitist, I have helped out more newbies than most
people have tapes in their collection.
